Texas Hold’em
Texas Hold’em is a globally popular poker game. It uses a standard 52 – card deck without jokers and typically has 2 to 10 players.
At the start, players place “blinds”, usually a “small blind” and a “big blind”, which fills the pot initially. Each player gets 2 face – down “hole cards”. Then, the dealer flips 3 community cards (the “flop”), followed by a single “turn” card and a final “river” card.
Players form their best 5 – card hands using their hole cards and the community cards. Hand rankings range from the powerful Royal Flush (Ace, King, Queen, Jack, Ten of the same suit) down to a High Card when no other combinations are made.
Throughout the game, there are multiple betting rounds. After the hole cards are dealt, players take turns clockwise to bet, raise, or fold. Similar betting rounds occur after the flop, turn, and river.
If more than one player remains after all betting rounds, they reveal their cards in the showdown. The player with the highest – ranked hand wins the pot. In case of a tie, the pot is split evenly.
Rummy
Rummy is a popular card game that has intrigued players worldwide for generations. In this game, players are dealt a hand of cards. The main objective is to form valid sets and runs. Sets consist of three or four cards of the same rank, while runs are three or more consecutive cards of the same suit. By skillfully arranging their cards into these combinations and being the first to meld all their cards, players can score points and ultimately win. Rummy is not only a game of chance but also demands strategic thinking and quick decision – making, making it an engaging pastime for people of all ages.
